For the 2025-2026 flu season, the CDC still recommends most people 6 months & older get a flu vaccine.
A recommended time frame suggested is between September and October- but hopefully by the end of October.
You can get a flu vaccine all season long while supplies are available.
This year, the Hancock County Health Dept. West Virginia will again be providing 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐱, a pre-filled syringe, Trivalent formula, which does not contain thimerosal.
Call for eligibility & to see if any fees apply.
The Health Department will also be providing 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭, a live attenuated influenza vaccine- administered as a nasal spray.
This also does not contain thimerosal.
Our 𝐅𝐥𝐮𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭 supply is for WV residents, ages 2 years through 18 years, non-pregnant, with no underlying medical conditions. A child must have WV Medicaid, or health insurance that doesn’t cover vaccines or have no health insurance. No fees if you meet eligibility guidelines.
Call the Hancock County Health Dept. with questions & to schedule an appointment.
